An original and fresh volume of poetry. I liked some of the poems, and had to drag myself through a poem or two. But Denise Levertov is an amazing poet, and I really liked this volume. I will definitely check her other works as well.
Although I wish she was as creative and novel as some of the best poems in this volume. I would give this a /5. From the Shelf of Unknowing and other poems is Gerry McDonnell's first collection. Again I would fault the presentation of the book, with the poems printed in blue ink on blue paper which, though innovative, does not work.
Again this is unfortunate as the poetry, especially the long title-poem, impressed me a great deal.
